The Apple HomePod hasn’t been selling as well as the company hoped, however, the software update will definitely make the device more appealing. This purposefully designed speaker, which creates a rich, nuanced sound that challenges its size, adds a number of new features such as improved Siri voice assistant, the ability to make and receive phone calls, ’Search by lyrics‘, set multiple timers, identify callers and supports more languages.
Designed to be seen and heard:
The HomePod gives the highest-fidelity audio quality whether placed on a shelf, in a corner or in the center of a room. It delivers an unmatched listening experience with a stereo pair that allows a wider, more immersive soundstage than any regular stereo speakers.
At the event on 12th September, which included the expanded line of iPhones and launching of a new series of Apple Watch, the company also declared the forthcoming release of HomePod OS 12. The update not only supports the standard fixes for any problems but has expanded capacities for its smart speaker, including support for voice calls.

The HomePod software update brings the following functionality and new features, few updates were announced by Apple, others have appeared in the iOS 12 beta and are awaited.
